The Verkhovna Rada has adopted Law No.2569, which provides for the extension of the special order of local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts until December 31, 2020, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

320 deputies voted in "for".

The law on the special procedure of local self-government in CADLO was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in September 2014 for a period of three years. The document provides that a special procedure for local self-government in certain areas of Donbass comes into force only after the withdrawal of all illegal armed formations, their military equipment, as well as militants and mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine.

Earlier, following the Normandy format meeting, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced his readiness to extend the current law on the special status of CADLO.

"This is a technical thing, it is easier for us to continue this law and later introduce the Steinmeier formula, seeing certain steps from that party, that we are approaching de-escalation. Now we should wait until this law does not exist, and then, if it is God's will and everything is fine, we will vote on the new law – this is more difficult. I think that it is necessary to extend it", - the head of state said.

After that, head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamia and head of the Servant of the People party and deputy chairman of the faction Oleksandr Korniyenko registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill to extend the law on the special status of CADLO for one year.
