Russian Presiden’t aide Vladislav Surkov visited twice the occupied territories in the east of Ukraine in February. This was announced by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskiy at the press briefing, - reports LIGABusinessInform.
"During Surkov’s recent visit to the occupied territories, the issue of resumption of hostilities was considered. The main purpose of such actions of the Russian occupation forces is access to the administrative border of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," - he said.
In addition, Surkov discussed during his visit the involvement of Russian FSB structures to destabilize the situation in Kharkov, Zaporozhye and other regions of Ukraine.
"The main purpose of the visits is dissemination of Kremlin decisions on the further development of the situation in the east of Ukraine, instructions and directions on how to proceed", - said Skibitskiy.
Intelligence representative noted that the intensification of hostilities of Russian occupation forces was connected with visits of Russian leaders. Usually attacks intensify, their number increases, intelligence activities enhance in this period.
Earlier the SSU reported that Russia carefully concealed Surkov’s visit and one of the issues was the preparation of the so-called elections on the occupied territories.
