Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has written a letter of resignation from this post. He announced this in a video posted on his Facebook.
"As I promised, I have just written a letter of resignation. On Monday, on the day of inauguration, I will submit it to the Verkhovna Rada and new president of Ukraine", - he said.
He noted that the decision was made long ago. According to him, he had informed newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky in advance and was ready to help him.
"I believe that part of our success in foreign policy is that it is truly honest and sincere, unlike domestic policy. Today, the potential of our external support through politics is almost exhausted", - he said, adding that he has ideas that he wants to implement.
Therefore, according to him, he will go further to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "with team that shares his values".
