Ambassadors of the European Union have approved the extension of economic sanctions against Russia for six months. RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the Brussels journalist of Radio Liberty Ricardo Yosviak.

According to him, "the ambassadors of the European Union gave the green light to the extension of economic sanctions against Russia for another six months."

"It should be officially appropved this week", - he wrote.

As previously reported, on December 13, the European Union summit decided to extend economic sanctions against Russia. In total, there are about 200 citizens of the Russian Federation and organizations involved in various activities in the Crimea and self-proclaimed "DNR" and "LNR" on the sanctions list. Ukraine began the process of developing a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation because of the aggression in the Black and Azov Seas.
