The conflict in Donbass is in a relatively active phase, and there is a threat of open aggression from Russia. This opinion was expressed by Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak in an interview with Voice of America", - the ministry's press service reports.

The Minister noted that the conflict in the east of Ukraine continues to be in the active phase and pointed to the regular losses of the Ukrainian army.

Poltorak is confident that the conflict in the Donbass is "hot, but a little restrained".

Meanwhile, he noted, "one cannot definitely say that there is no threat of open aggression" from Russia.

"Unfortunately, I have big doubts that Russia and Putin dropped their aggressive policy and open aggression towards Ukraine. At least, their actions are evidence to the contrary", - Poltorak is sure.
