Forty countries condemned the fake "elections" in the occupied part of Donbass yesterday during a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council. This was stated by Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna Ihor Prokopchuk, - Ukrinform reports.

"There was unanimity in the assessments today. A position was expressed by 40 delegations which clearly condemned holding of the so-called elections in the occupied part of Donbass. A very clear position was expressed: what happened (on November 11 - OstroV) is a gross and defiant violation of Minsk agreements, sovereignty and legislation of Ukraine. These illegal "elections" have no legal consequences for the OSCE countries", - Prokopchuk stated, commenting on the special meeting of the organization's Permanent Council.

According to the diplomat, there was also a direct connection with head of the SMM Ertugrul Apakan during the meeting, who presented the Mission's observations on the day of the "elections" in the occupied parts of Donbass.

"But he also drew attention to broader problematics, in particular, related to a downed UAV of the SMM near the Ukrainian-Russian border, when this drone watched convoys that crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border in the middle of the night, including military equipment. All countries which had a word at today's meeting blamed Russia for the fact that this UAV was shot down, as they did last week. Today they also talked about restriction of the movement of the SMM observers in the occupied part", - Prokopchuk reported.
