The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a draft law 9153 on extended the term of the special order of local self-governance in separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions for another year. 245 MPs supported the bill, 112.ua reports.

The provision of the law on the special status of the area shall take effect only when the aggressor state withdraws all the illegal armed groups, militants, mercenaries and military hardware from Donbass.

As previously reported, on October 3, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko introduced a bill to parliament proposing to extend the law on the special procedure for self-government in the CDDLO. The adoption of the bill is aimed, among other things, at determining the need to preserve the international sanctions regime introduced to restore the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as creating the necessary conditions for the deployment of a United Nations peacekeeping operation in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine.

It was also reported that the law on the special status of Donbass will come into effect only after the introduction of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass.
