More than 50% of Ukrainians oppose the complete blockade of the occupied territory of the Donbass. This was reported by the analyst of the Ilka Kucheriva Democratic Initiatives Foundation Mariia Zolkina, presenting the results of the all-Ukrainian sociological survey conducted by GfK-Ukraine company from May 3 to May 19, 2018, OstroV’s correspondent reports.

"As the studies of previous years have shown, society is not ready for the idea of a complete breakdown of ties with uncontrolled territories, and considers such a step impractical: for example, the idea of a full-fledged economic blockade, that is, the absence of economic and trade ties, the interruption of humanitarian and social ties, including possibility of travelling there. Such a step is considered absolutely inappropriate by more than half of the population - 55% oppose such an idea", - she said.

The study was conducted by the company GfK-Ukraine from May 3 to May 19, 2018 via telephone interviews with calls to mobile phones and the random generation of a telephone number. 1980 respondents took part in the poll, 528 of them from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts (territories controlled by the Ukrainian government).
