In Sloviansk, police uncovered mother and son, who actively supported the "DNR" militants during the occupation of the city, - the Department of Communications of the National Police in Donetsk oblast reported.
In the course of the operational and preventive testing of the Khimik neighborhood, district police officers received information from local residents that one of the local families assisted illegal armed formation in 2014.
Law enforcers established that a local resident, born in 1985, with the support of his mother, worked at the Khimik checkpoint. The man carried out an illegal check of vehicles and citizens, the woman provided regular meals for militants.
At the moment, the fact of participation of suspects in illegal armed formations is included in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Art. 260 "Creation of illegal armed units or participation in their activities" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for 3 to 8 years of imprisonment.
Since the beginning of the year, the Sloviansk police have exposed 79 militants.
