The Verkhovna Rada has banned the alienation of property to the debtors on child support and introduced an automated arrest of their funds. 230 deputies voted for the adoption of the draft law No.8296 with the minimum required 226, - Ukrayinski Novyny reports.

According to the document, alienation of property by the debtor put in the Unified Register of Debtors is prohibited, in particular for enforcement proceedings on recovery of alimony payments if there are debts on these payments for more than three months.

The automated arrest of the debtor's funds is determined by the Ministry of Justice in consultation with the National Bank.

The document increases the maximum penalty for the parents of the child who committed the crime, responsibility for which is provided for by the Criminal Code and if the child does not reach the age at which the criminal responsibility occurs, to $194.

In addition, it is necessary to file an application on the absence of debt for the payment of child support for more than six months to the Cabinet of Ministers for applicants, candidates for deputies and deputies for local councils.

As previously reported, more than $38.1 thousand of debts was collected from alimony dodgers in 2018. Almost 9 thousand Ukrainians were placed on a wanted list for non-payment of alimony.
