Belarusian Railway offers to organize a new logistics route to the EU through the Izov-Hrubieszów border crossing. This was discussed at the meeting of operations director of Ukrzaliznytsia Vyacheslav Yeriomin and first deputy head of Belarusian Railway Igor Shylov, - press service of the Ukrainian railway department reports.

It is noted that the Belarusian Railway Administration suggested that the management of Ukrzaliznytsia consider the prospects of cooperation with PKP LHS Polish railway company on the organization of a new logistics route towards the European Union through the Izov-Hrubieszów border crossing.

"In case of obtaining principle agreement, Belarusian colleagues are ready to organize a tripartite meeting on tariff conditions and transport technologies on this logistics route", - the report said.

Railway personnel of Ukraine and Belarus discussed the issues of servicing cargo and passenger traffic at the border areas. In particular, the Belarusian party informed during the meeting about the prolongation of tariffs for transit transportation by the Viking train of combined transport for the second half of 2018. Thanks to the flexible tariff policy in relation to Ukrainian export-import cargoes, following in transit from Ukraine through Belarus, 40 thousand tons of grain were transported by the Viking train over the period of 5 months.

Representatives of railway administrations discussed other topical issues of further bilateral cooperation in the field of freight and passenger transportation in the Ukraine-Belarus connection, development of transit traffic, more efficient organization of work with rolling stock, as well as tariff policy issues in the organization of transport between the two countries.
