The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will discuss the issue of Ukrainian political prisoners illegally held and imprisoned by the Kremlin at a debate on June 28. This was reported on Facebook by head of the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada in the PACE, vice-president of the assembly Volodymyr Ariev, - UNIAN writes.

"I managed to convince the PACE Bureau! The debate on the Ukrainian hostages of the Kremlin will be held in Strasbourg on Thursday morning", - Ariev stated.

As previously reported, on Monday, June 25, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland would make an official request to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to pardon illegally convicted Ukrainian director Oleh Sentsov who is serving a sentence in a Russian colony and went on a hunger strike on May 14.
