The situation in Donbass is now the tensest since the beginning of the year. Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug stated this in the interview with Russian Kommersant.
According to him, the OSCE SMM has been observed the increase in number of violations of the ceasefire since mid-May.
"And now we are dealing with the tensest situation since the beginning of the year, but we have already seen such cycles of armed violence before, what again leads us to the conclusion that the parties have all the opportunities to manage the situation on the ground. During the holidays and on the occasions like beginning of the school year or harvesting, the number of violations of the ceasefire is reduced, but then grows again", - he noted.
He stressed that until the key points of the agreements are fulfilled, the situation will not change. "It is necessary to stop the fire, remove weapons, build forces and means and carry out demining, otherwise people will continue to die", - Hug stated.
