One soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was killed and another was wounded as a result of shelling by militants in the Donbass on February 22, - press center of the ATO headquarters reports.
Illegal armed formations conducted 19 well-aimed shelling of the AFU positions in the east of Ukraine over the past day.
On the Luhansk direction, the main fire activity of the enemy was concentrated in the area of the Svitlodarsk arc. In particular, the enemy used 120 and 82-mm mortars and a whole arsenal of infantry weapons near Luhanske and Troitske. Several mines of 82-mm caliber exploded near Krymske and Katerynivka. Militants covered Ukrainian positions near Zaitseve and Novoluhanske from the large-caliber machine guns and small arms, and near Hladosove and Lozove – from grenade launchers and machine guns. Also, illegal armed formations shelled the defenders of Novooleksandrivka from the IFV weapons and small arms.
On the Donetsk direction, militants fired on Ukrainian positions from mortars of various calibers near Novotroitske and Pisky.
