Ihor Kozlovsky, Volodymyr Fomichov and Oleksiy Kyrychenko are among the liberated Ukrainians

63-year-old Ukrainian religious scholar Ihor Kozlovsky has been in captivity since January 2016.

At the beginning of May 2017, the so-called "military tribunal" of the "DNR" sentenced famous scholar to 2 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

After Donetsk was occupied by illegal armed formations, Kozlovsky was forced to stay in the city to take care of his sick elder son. He was detained on January 27, 2016 on the wave of arrests after the explosion of the monument to Lenin in Donetsk. The "DNR" militants accused him of "illegally acquiring, transferring, selling, storing, transporting or carrying weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices". In February 2017, the family of Kozlovsky gathered a press conference, deciding to fight for his release through international publicity.

As previously reported, the exchange of prisoners under the formula "306 for 74" is planned for today, that is, the Ukrainian side will release 306 representatives of the "republics", and the "DNR/LNR" will give Ukraine 74 hostages.
