The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the minimum price beet sugar by 40.7% for 2016/2017 marketing year (September - August) compared with the previous year - up to 9078.87 UAH/ton (VAT exclusive), - informs segodnya.ua.
Minimum prices for sugar beet in the next season will be by 38.4% higher - 616.99 UAH/ton (VAT exclusive).
The maximum size of the quotas for sugar production to supply the domestic market (quota 'A') is also set: it is reduced to 1.67 million tons from 1.72 million tons in 2015/2016 MY.
As previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers increased the minimum price for beet sugar by 36.7% for 2015/2016 marketing year compared to the current year - up to 6454.73 UAH/ton (VAT exclusive). The minimum price for sugar beet was increased by 29.8% - 445.87 UAH/ton (VAT exclusive).
