Latvian State Radio and Television Centre signed an agreement with Ukrainian BRT Concern on receiving three highly powerful analog TV transmitters, which will be used to restore broadcasting of the Ukrainian television stations in the east of Ukraine. It is reported by LIGABusinessInform with the reference to Gossspetssvyazi.
According to the report, the transmitters are now free due to Latvia's transition to digital broadcasting.
"After customs clearance and delivery of equipment to Ukraine transmitters will be used to restore broadcasting of the Ukrainian television stations in the east of Ukraine", - said the statement.
As previously reported, a new temporary tower was established on the ruins of the former TV tower on Mount Karachun in Slavyansk in the spring of 2015. The transmitters installed on it significantly improved the signal of broadcasting of Ukrainian TV channels in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
