The law, which obliges the national television channels to broadcast at least 75% of the air in the state language, came into force.

The law was published in Holos Ukrayiny official newspaper of the Verkhovna Rada on June 13 and came into force four months after the day of its publication.

According to the document, in the total weekly volume of broadcasting of TV and radio organizations that carry on-air or multiplexing (digital) broadcasting using radio frequency resources, programs, films and news in the state language should account for at least 75% of the total running time of programs and films in each of the periods of time between 7:00 and 18:00, and between 18:00 and 22:00.

TV and radio companies of the local broadcasting category must broadcast at least 60% of the air in the Ukrainian language.
