The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a governmental bill "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Pensions Increase" - the so-called pension reform, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

288 people's deputies casted an affirmative vote.

The offered pension reform can be conditionally divided into two blocks: "modernizing" (increasing) of pensions to the current retirees and increasing the requirements for labor experience - for the future.

As for raising pensions, this will happen as a result of the recalculation of all pensions, taking into account new average salary of $141 (instead of $45). As a result, the pensions of almost half of Ukrainian pensioners should be increased.

"We will modernize the pensions for 5.6 million Ukrainian citizens. About 1.308 million Ukrainian citizens will receive an increase in pensions up to $7.5, 1.208 million will receive an increase in pensions from $7.5 to $19 a month, almost 2 million Ukrainian citizens will receive an increase in pensions from $19 to $37.5 a month", - Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated earlier.

However, along with an increase in the average salary (for pensions' calculating), the pension insurance record is reduced from 1.35 to 1%. And in order to "catch up" with old retirees, you will need to work longer, and receive higher official salary.

According to Groysman, one of the main achievements is that Ukraine has defended the requirement not to raise the retirement age.

The minimum of subsistence for pensioners who have full labor experience rises from $49 to $54 from October 1.
