President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomes any steps to establish a unified church. He stated this during a press conference, - reports the correspondent of OstroV.

"I will welcome any steps that pilgrims, believers will do for Ukraine, especially in these difficult circumstances, to have a single church. It is important", - said Poroshenko.

He also noted that Ukrainians can celebrate Christmas when they like (from December 24^th to 25^th, or from 6^th to January 7^th).

"I am a responsible politician and responsible president. I have something to do, presidential affairs, and let people celebrate (Christmas - Ed.) when they like to do it", - he said.
