Ukraine has refused to introduce visas with the Russian Federation in order to prevent provocations and creation of problems by the Russian party. This was said by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada today during an hour of questions to the government, - the correspondent of OstroV reports.

"A plan for the future is the decision on the creation of an integrated system, approved by the NSDC plan, I emphasize, not of a separate step, as someone would like, but of a system that provides for the record of biometric data from foreigners and stateless persons, effective control of movement across Ukraine and other measures. This system will be implemented gradually, and the usual introduction of visas will not give us the effect that we aspire to", - he said.

According to the minister, the introduction of a visa regime with the Russian Federation will create significant problems that Russia will take advantage of.

"It will use it in order to make provocations and a conscious policy of restriction for Ukrainian citizens who live in the occupied territory, to travel to the territory of Ukraine", - Klimkin added.

"Therefore, on the basis of detailed analysis, such a decision was made, and we consider it to be optimal. This decision is supported by our friends and partners", - the head of Ukrainian MFA concluded.
