Six Ukrainian servicemen were wounded as a result of shelling by militants in the east of Ukraine over the past 24 hours, - the press center of ATO reports.
The situation in the ATO operational area remains tense and has not undergone significant changes over the past 24 hours. Militants fired 47 times on the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces yesterday: 10 enemy shelling were carried out using 120-mm mortars which are prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
21 shelling of the defensive fortifications of the ATO forces were registered in the seaside direction. In particular, militants fired 120-mm mortar shells at the Ukrainian positions in the area of Pavlopil, Chermalyk, Shyrokyne and Mykolaivka. Illegal armed groups fired 82-mm mortars near Vodiane. Not far from these settlements, as well as near Talakivka and Lebedynske, militants resorted to armed provocations, using less powerful weapons, mainly grenade launchers and small arms.
The direst situation in the Donetsk direction was in the north-east of Avdiivka – militants repeatedly fired 120mm and 82mm mortars and various infantry weapons at the strong points of the AFU in the area of Kamianka. The positions of the AF of Ukraine, located at the foot of Luhanske on the Svetlodarsk arc, were fired the grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. Militants use the same weapons only in the southern suburb of Avdiivka with onset of twilight. In total, 11 cases of using weapons were registered on this direction yesterday.
15 enemy shelling were registered on the Luhansk direction, most of which took place in the dark. Militants fired the mortars at the strong points of Ukrainian army, which are located in the area of Krymske, Troitske, Novotoshkivske and Zolote. The use of small arms, grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and sometimes IFV by the enemy was registered in the area of Katerynivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novozvanivka, Stanytsia Luhanska and Shchastya.
