The International Monetary Fund agreed that the budget adopted on December 25th met the objectives of the programme of Ukraine's cooperation with the Fund. This was stated by the Minister of Finance Natalia Yaresko in comments to Ekonomicheskaya Pravda.
"During the consideration in the Verkhovna Rada the deputies, firstly, made a number of amendments in the draft budget that had not been agreed upon with the IMF, and secondly, refused to accept the new Tax Code, which had been adopted by the President at the National Council reform and that served the basis of the draft law on the state budget, which the Ministry of Finance agreed with the IMF ", - said the Minister.
According to her, at the moment the IMF has completed its assessment of the budget and the corresponding package of legislation, the adoption of which was necessary for the adoption of the budget for 2016.
"The IMF agreed that the adopted budget complies broadly with the objectives of the programme", - said Yaresko.
As previously reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law "On the State Budget for 2016" on December 25th.
