The drainage is stopped in many Donbass mines, which can lead to a deterioration of the ecological situation. This was announced by Deputy Minister for Issues of temporarily occupied territories Yuriy Grymchak on the air of 112 Ukraina TV channel.

"Actually, all the enterprises stopped. There were statements that they would try to "revive" the metallurgical industry, but there is no confirmation. The only thing we have is that many mines stopped water drainage, which could lead to a deterioration of the environmental situation", - he said.

According to Grymchak, recent studies published by Russian media indicate an 8-fold increase in the water’s salt level in the territory of ORDO and the Russian Federation. "About 80 sources of drinking water for today are no longer suitable for use", - he said.
