The official representative of Ukraine at the hearings in the International Court of Justice Olena Zerkal asks the court to apply provisional measures against Russia, before the solution of case on the merits. She said this, speaking at the meeting of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, - Yevropeyska Pravda reports.
Olena Zerkal noted that the number of shots which are sounded in the east of Ukraine confirms that the other side supplies arms for the militants.
"The number of shots has reached nearly 50 million only in Avdiivka in recent weeks. This amount of ammunition supplies is equivalent to 80 filled freight wagons. At the same time, the official representative of the President of the Russian Federation publicly expresses the hope that ammunition supplies of the militants in the East of Ukraine will not end. Can any doubt about who supplies the arm be? No. It is the Russian Federation that do it", - she stated.
Olena Zerkal stressed that Ukraine counts in this situation on the application of provisional measures by the International Court, one of which is the express prohibition to Russia for the further support of the pro-Russian militants.
As previously reported, Ukraine has filed a lawsuit in the International Court of Justice on January 16 in order to bring to responsibility the Russian Federation for the acts of terrorism and discrimination in the course of its illegal aggression against Ukraine. The lawsuit was filed under the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
The hearings in the International Court of Justice in The Hague (Netherlands) at the suit of Ukraine in order to bring Russia to responsibility for the acts of terrorism and discrimination in the course of its illegal aggression against Ukraine will be held on 6-9 March 2017.
