“There are different people around putin: half of them want to continue this war, and the other half want to stop it”, - President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with The Guardian, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
Zelensky separately noted the position of russian business figures.
“Businesspeople understand that the russian economy is in a terrible state”, - the president said.
Zelensky also outlined specific steps that would bring an end to the war closer:
“If Western countries do not lift sanctions, increase pressure on russia’s shadow fleet and other sectors, and if Ukraine remains strong on the battlefield, we will be closer to peace”, - he emphasized.
