The russian command has set for itself a deadline for capturing Kostiantynivka — April 25, however Ukrainian military consider these timeframes unrealistic. This was stated in a comment to RBC-Ukraine by Dmytro Zaporozhets — spokesperson of the 11th Army Corps, which holds the defense in the agglomeration area.
According to him, the nature of the enemy’s actions indicates attempts to enter the settlement directly. This creates conditions for the concealed deployment of personnel, but at the same time forces urban combat, which significantly slows down the advance.
He explained that flanking maneuvers are currently failing for the enemy, and fighting in the city will not allow for a quick capture of the settlement.
“Therefore, the deadlines they have planned for themselves can be multiplied by X months. If they conduct active assault operations and throw all resources into capturing Kostiantynivka, then, in my opinion, they may possibly achieve something, but not earlier than October”, - he noted.
The spokesperson emphasized that the russians may structure the offensive in several “waves”: first they will use fast transport, in particular motorcycles, then buggies and cars, and then armored vehicles with personnel.
