“On the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk oblast, starting today, control over men of conscription age has significantly intensified”, - activists of the “OTPOR” movement report.
According to the activists, at checkpoints representatives of the occupation structures are mass issuing orders requiring people to register for military service. Such documents are handed to both men of conscription age and those over 30 years old.
At the same time, direct threats are being used: in case of refusal or ignoring the demands, the occupiers warn of possible home visits aimed at forced registration. The purpose of these actions is an attempt to increase the mobilization resource and replenish losses at the expense of the local population.
Such a practice was already used at the beginning of 2022 in the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, where mass forced mobilization led to significant losses among local residents. The kremlin continues to treat the population as expendable resources, ignoring their safety and rights, forcing them to fight against fellow Ukrainians.
