“This week Ukraine and russia conducted another POW exchange, as a result of which 1,000 people returned home in accordance with the agreements reached during the recent trilateral negotiations in Geneva with the participation of the United States”, - said the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

Witkoff noted that this exchange became possible thanks to lengthy and detailed peace negotiations led by President Donald Trump.

“Under the leadership of the president, we continue to achieve significant results while working on formulating a peace agreement that will once and for all put an end to the war”, - the special envoy added.

He reported that negotiations are continuing, and “additional progress” is expected in the coming weeks.

“We thank the government of Switzerland for hosting these negotiations and President Trump for his leadership in advancing diplomacy toward resolving the conflict”, - Witkoff concluded.
