“Due to Trump’s disagreements with European leaders over Greenland, the signing in Davos of the plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine was postponed. According to one source of the newspaper Financial Times (FT), European capitals cannot simply ignore the actions of the U.S. president regarding Greenland while simultaneously trying to move forward on other issues — for example, Ukraine”, - the BBC reported on January 21.

Three interlocutors familiar with the discussions on the document told FT that on Monday it was supposed to be discussed by senior national security officials; however, the U.S. representative did not arrive for the talks.

Two sources close to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the newspaper that he refused to travel to Davos unless there was a guarantee of a substantive meeting with Trump at which the plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine would be signed.

“Macron left Davos on Tuesday (January 20) without securing a personal meeting — despite having invited Trump to Paris later this week in a message that Trump leaked on social media”, - Politico wrote on January 21, citing its sources.

It is noted that German Chancellor Merz, on the contrary, still hopes to hold talks with Trump on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on January 21.

As clarified by the Telegram channel “AZfront”, Trump had earlier refused to travel to Paris, stating that Macron “won’t last long” and “will soon no longer be” in power.
