“There are already the first reports on the situation in the regions after the russian strike. Kyiv and the Kyiv oblast, Vinnytsia oblast, Dnipropetrovsk oblast, Odesa oblast, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava oblast, Sumy oblast, and other regions. Repair crews, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, all necessary forces are involved everywhere. The russian strike included a significant number of ballistic and cruise missiles. More than 300 attack drones. Our air defense forces engaged a substantial number of targets. A day before this strike, we finally received the necessary missiles, and this significantly helped. Every support package matters”, - President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on January 20.
“Missiles for ‘Patriots’, ‘NASAMS’ and for other air defense systems are critically necessary. The direct task of our entire diplomatic system is to work so that Ukraine has sufficient air defense assets. And partners must not let us down in this — missiles for air defense are real protection of people’s lives”, - the head of state emphasized.
He also added that the consequences of the attack and the necessary resources to restore electricity, heating, and water supplies to people will be determined in the format of a special energy selector.
“The most difficult situation so far is in Kyiv. A significant number of residential buildings was left without heating. It is important that the world does not remain silent about this. Russia cannot be on equal footing with other countries of the world while it is focused only on killings and abuse of people. Now all Ukrainian officials, everyone responsible for the work of state institutions, regional and local authorities, Ukrainian energy companies — all must be in Ukraine, working, helping people, and trying to stabilize the situation. One must be in one’s own state, in one’s own cities, with one’s own communities”, - Zelensky writes.
