The so-called “ministry of construction of the DNR” informed residents of the occupied Donetsk oblast on January 19 via its Telegram channel about “possible disruptions in water supply”.

The occupiers justify the “unstable power supply to pumping stations” by “enemy attacks on the energy system”.

“Specialists from the company ‘Voda Donbassa’ are working on site to promptly restart facilities after power supply is restored”, - the occupation authorities promise people who have been deprived of normal water supply for many months.

Local Telegram channels also report that at present the Volyntsevska and Yenakiieve filtering stations are without power, as a result of which heat supply has been halted in nearby cities and villages.

“Utility workers are also working in Makiivka — part of the water tanker fleet has been deployed to launch boiler houses. Officials are asking people to save electricity to reduce the load on the networks”, - writes, in particular, “Typical Donetsk” Telegram channel.

The temperature in the apartments and houses of Donetsk residents often does not exceed +5–10 degrees Celsius; social media are full of photos and videos showing thermometers.

According to the weather forecast, nighttime frosts at the level of -10–15 degrees Celsius will persist in the occupied Donetsk oblast over the coming week.
