“The situation is very difficult. In certain cities and oblasts, preparation was failed. Over these two days in office, I have seen that frankly many things are stalling. Now we will restore order”, - said Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal during the government question hour, Hromadske reports.

According to him, the most difficult energy situation at present is in Kyiv and the oblast, as well as in the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv oblasts, and in frontline communities.

He noted that after russia’s massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector, there are no undamaged power plants left in the country. As a result of attacks by russia, thousands of megawatts of capacity have been knocked out of the energy system.

“Despite this, the system remains intact, and dispatchers retain control over it, although they are forced to apply significant consumption restrictions”, - Shmyhal emphasized.

He also noted that Ukraine has fuel reserves for more than 20 days. The situation with gas reserves, according to him, is “under control”, and restrictions on gas consumption are not being applied.
