“Russia claims that a medium-range ballistic missile, the so-called ‘Oreshnik’, was used against the Lviv oblast. ...We call on all responsible states and international organizations to expose russian lies and, without delay, increase pressure on the aggressor. We will initiate international actions — an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO Council, as well as appropriate measures within the EU, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE”, - Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on the social network X on January 9.

According to Sybiha, such a strike near the EU and NATO border poses a serious threat to the security of the European continent and is a test for the transatlantic community.

“We demand a decisive response to russia’s reckless actions. We are informing the United States, European partners, as well as all countries and international organizations about the details of this dangerous strike through diplomatic channels. It is absurd that russia is trying to justify this strike with a fake ‘attack on putin’s residence’ that never happened. This is yet another proof that moscow does not need real reasons for its terror and war”, - Sybiha writes.

He emphasizes that “putin’s use of a medium-range ballistic missile near the EU and NATO border in response to his own hallucinations is indeed a global threat. And it requires global countermeasures”.

“More decisive measures must be taken against the russian tanker fleet — and the United States is right to take such measures — as well as against russia’s oil revenues, its schemes, and assets. Not only in the EU, but worldwide”, - Sybiha notes.
