“It is important that approaches are increasingly moving from the plane of political statements to the plane of practical decisions. There is a clear understanding of gradual movement toward the implementation of the agreements. It is precisely this kind of work that creates the foundation for real and sustainable peace”, - Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reported from Paris in a Telegram post during the day on January 7.
He noted that, on the instruction of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian delegation continues its work with partners in Paris.
“We held consultations with national security advisers of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Turkey with the participation of the United States, NATO, the European Commission, and the European Council. The discussion focused on specific parameters of security guarantees, deterrence of russian aggression, and the logic of further steps in the peace process”, - the NSDC secretary emphasized.
Umerov recalled that, from the Ukrainian side, the meeting was attended together with him by Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Andrii Hnatov, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President Serhii Kyslytsia, and Adviser to the Office of the President Oleksandr Bevz.
As reported, Starmer clarified who will make the final decision on the deployment of troops in Ukraine.
