“If a decision is made to deploy under the agreement signed yesterday, then I will raise this issue in advance for discussion in the House and for a vote — this corresponds to recent practice, and I will follow it”, - UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, answering questions from Members of the House of Commons about the content of the declaration of intent signed the day before in Paris together with the presidents of Ukraine and France, BBC reported on January 7.
“Together with Presidents Macron and Zelensky, we agreed on a declaration of intent regarding the deployment of troops in the event of a peace deal”, - Starmer said. He added that the details would be presented to the British parliament in a separate statement “at the earliest opportunity”.
The report notes that the ruling Labour Party has a solid majority in parliament, which allows the government to easily pass its decisions on most issues.
