“Military leaders of France, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and the United States held talks in Paris devoted to security guarantees for Ukraine and mechanisms for their implementation”, - RFI reported on January 6.
On the social network X, the Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Fabien Mandon, said that the meeting was attended by his British counterpart General Knighton, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Hnatov, as well as the Commander of U.S. Forces in Europe, General Grynkewich.
“On Tuesday in Paris, European countries — allies of Ukraine — and American envoys are gathering to clarify the outlines of ‘multinational forces’ in the event that an agreement on a ceasefire with Moscow is reached. Although leaders may approve the contributions of various coalition countries to this military mission, they will disclose only ‘what military secrecy allows’, one of Emmanuel Macron’s advisers warned. Therefore, one should not expect the publication of the size of these forces or the specific contributions of states ready to participate in them, such as France and the United Kingdom”, - the report notes.
