“On the night of December 29, residents of Valdai in the Novgorod oblast did not notice the strikes and destruction of almost a hundred drones, which, according to russian authorities, allegedly tried to attack the residence of russian president vladimir putin”, - writes the Telegram channel “Mozhem Obyasnit”.

According to 14 people interviewed by the outlet, none of them received SMS alerts about a drone threat, which are usually sent in the event of an air attack. “There was no buzzing that night, let alone explosions. If anything like that had happened, the whole city would have been discussing it for sure”, - one of the interlocutors said.

As reported earlier, the russian Ministry of Defense initially did not mention any Ukrainian UAVs attacking the residence of the russian dictator in the Novgorod oblast. Reports on the number of “attacking” drones kept changing throughout the day until they were adjusted to match the figure named by russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that no evidence confirming claims of a Ukrainian “terrorist” act was required.
