"The most difficult situation remains in the regions bordering russia and in frontline areas. The enemy continues systematic attacks on the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv oblasts, where extensive damage to generation, transmission, and electricity distribution networks has been recorded", - the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on December 19.
It is noted that as a result of nighttime strikes on the energy infrastructure of the Odesa oblast, as of the morning more than 73 thousand households remain without electricity. Restoration work is ongoing.
Also, due to attacks on energy facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast, more than 26 thousand households are without power.
As a result of the revision of the lists of critical infrastructure facilities, the government managed to free up at least 800 MW of electric capacity, which will make it possible to reduce the duration of outage schedules for the population and industry during the autumn-winter period, the statement says.
