“We are taking this step because the ban on importing russian oil and gas will make it impossible to safely supply energy to Hungary and Slovakia and will lead to a sharp increase in prices”, - said Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, reports Hromadske.
He called this regulation “large-scale legal fraud”, because, in his opinion, the plan is a sanction measure that would require unanimous approval.
In addition, the head of Hungarian diplomacy insists that the agreement allegedly contradicts EU treaties, which state that energy policy is a national competence.
