Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak has submitted a resignation letter. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address on November 28.
“Right now we are preparing for a meeting with the American side – about the steps needed to make peace truly possible. And to make it a dignified peace. And when all attention is focused on diplomacy, on defense in the war, internal strength is needed. Internal strength is the foundation of our external unity and our relations with the world. And for that internal strength to exist, there must be no reasons to be distracted by anything other than the defense of Ukraine. I want no one to have any questions for Ukraine. Therefore today – the following internal decisions”, - the President began his address.
“First – there will be a reboot of the Office of the President of Ukraine. The Head of the Office, Andriy Yermak, has submitted a resignation letter. I am grateful to Andriy for the fact that Ukraine’s position in the negotiation track was always presented by him exactly as it should be. It was always a patriotic position. But I want there to be no rumors or speculation. As for the new head of the Office, tomorrow I will hold consultations with those who may lead this institution.
There will soon be negotiations, our representatives will participate – the Chief of the General Staff, representatives of the MFA, the Secretary of the NSDC, and our intelligence. And when we all face such an external challenge – war – we must be strong internally. One hundred percent of our strength will be focused on the defense of Ukraine. Everyone must now act exactly this way, in the interests of our state, and defend our state. This is an unchanging principle. In the near future, meetings with the American side will take place.
Second – the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. I expect that Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, together with Members of Parliament, in dialogue and unity, will ensure three things for Ukraine. Most importantly – adopting the budget for 2026, meaning the ability of our state to defend itself, to provide for defense, to ensure all social payments and necessary stability. This is what people need. I also expect nominations for the ministers of energy and justice. The performance of current ministers must be assessed so that absolutely clear conclusions can be made about whether current officials meet the challenges of both this winter and this war.
Third – I have spoken with the Security Service of Ukraine to have them conduct their analysis of the situation in the law enforcement system and in the regions. Reports will follow soon, I will make my conclusions and decisions. There is too much negative information coming from the regions. We have agreed that the Security Service will provide the information to me quickly.
And, of course, the army. Our warriors are heroes. Our warriors are destroying the enemy, and this is the foundation of our ability to build diplomacy. There are issues that should have been addressed long ago. The Commander-in-Chief, the General Staff, and Pavlo Palisa are already working on this, and next week I am preparing the corresponding Staff meeting. Above all, so that there is a truly fair, rational distribution of personnel among brigades. The principles for how to do this already exist, and every combat brigade is discussing it. The decision will come”, - Zelensky promised, adding words of gratitude to everyone who stands with Ukraine.
As reported earlier, Andriy Yermak stated that as long as Volodymyr Zelensky remains President of Ukraine, he will not agree to give up territories seized by russia in exchange for peace.
