“Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky wants to meet with Donald Trump ‘as soon as possible’, possibly on Thursday, November 27, Thanksgiving Day — in order to finalize the American president’s ‘peace plan’". This was reported by Axios, citing the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.
Earlier, it was this very day that Trump named as the deadline by which Zelensky must agree to the plan, reports the Telegram channel “Radio Svoboda”.
”I hope president Zelensky’s visit will take place as soon as possible, because … it will help president Trump continue his historic mission of ending this war. Because [Trump] will be able to say: ’Look, this is confirmed and agreed upon, our position with the Ukrainians. We support it and now continue negotiations with the russians’”, Axios quotes Yermak as saying.
The initial “peace plan” by Trump was considered by experts and many members of the American establishment to largely reflect russian demands toward Ukraine. This plan was adjusted during negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations in Geneva, after which it was rejected by moscow. Today, negotiations on Trump’s “peace plan” with the participation of representatives of the US, Ukraine, and russia took place in Abu Dhabi.
As reported, Ukraine agreed to Trump’s peace deal. Only “minor details” remain to be clarified.
