“Achieving a lasting peace will require both sides to make difficult but necessary concessions”, - wrote U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on X.
Rubio stated that in order to bring an end to “such a complex and deadly war as the one continuing in Ukraine”, “a broad exchange of serious and realistic ideas” is necessary.
In his opinion, to achieve long-term peace, Ukraine and russia must agree to “necessary concessions”.
According to Rubio, this is why the United States is developing and will continue to develop “a list of potential ideas for ending this war based on proposals from both sides of the conflict”.
Earlier, on November 19, a number of American media outlets reported on a new “peace plan” of 28 points that the team of U.S. President Donald Trump had been developing in consultations with russia.
Ukraine stated that the document completely repeats the kremlin’s maximalist demands and cannot be implemented in Ukraine in its current form.
