"On November 19, in the Polish Sejm, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski presented information on the investigation into the sabotage carried out on the Warsaw–Lublin railway. He emphasized that the latest incidents are classified as an act of state terrorism, as the perpetrators’ intent involved human casualties", - reports Polish Radio.
Sikorski noted that "in recent days there were actions by foreign services that could have caused a railway disaster and the deaths of many people".
"An foreign state sent well-prepared saboteurs. Only by miracle did they fail to achieve their intent", - the minister reported.
According to him, the russian intelligence "routinely hires proxy operatives under a false flag", seeking to conceal its involvement. "This time, it was not only an act of sabotage, as before, but an act of state terror — with a clear goal to cause casualties. This will meet our response, and it will not only be diplomatic. We will make the details public in the coming days", - Sikorski stated.
The minister publicly rejected attempts to shift responsibility onto Ukraine and called such authors "political saboteurs".
He emphasized that russia spends enormous resources on disinformation: "The goal is to turn part of society against our neighbors, against the European Union, and against Ukrainian refugees who found shelter in Poland from russian shelling. putin is doing this with the same logic as his support for Brexit, financing separatists in Spain, helping the nationalist government of Hungary, and far-right parties striving to destroy the EU from within".
Sikorski announced that the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is revoking its consent for the russian consulate in Gdańsk to operate.
Polish authorities emphasize that attacks aimed at undermining the safety of citizens and vital infrastructure will not go unanswered, and further actions will be presented in the coming days.
