“I believe that the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy cannot remain in their positions. This is, in particular, a matter of trust. If there are accusations, they must be addressed. The decision to suspend them from their duties must be immediate, as fast as possible. I asked the Prime Minister of Ukraine to ensure that resignation statements are submitted by these ministers. I ask the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada to support these statements. And then everything should be resolved within the legal framework”, - President Volodymyr Zelensky said on November 12.
According to him, a “National Security and Defense Council decision on sanctions based on a submission from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine” is also planned.
“Right now, it is extremely difficult for everyone in Ukraine. We are enduring power outages, Russian strikes, and losses. It is absolutely unacceptable that at the same time there are still some schemes operating in the energy sector. I will sign a decree imposing sanctions against two individuals involved in the NABU case on ‘Energoatom’”, - Zelensky emphasized.
It was previously reported that in the corruption case in the energy sector, 5 people were detained, and 7 individuals were notified of suspicion.
