“The defense forces of Ukraine were forced to withdraw from positions near five settlements in two directions in the Zaporizhzhia oblast”, - reported RBC-Ukraine on November 11, citing the comment of the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.
“In the Zaporizhzhia oblast, particularly in the Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole directions, intense fighting has been ongoing for several days in a row. The enemy is using all types of available weapons to push the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of their held positions”, - Voloshyn noted.
According to him, up to a hundred combat engagements have been recorded here over the past few days.
As a result of the intensification of enemy assault actions (more than 400 artillery attacks daily using about 2,000 munitions), in order to preserve the lives of personnel, the defense forces had to withdraw from positions near the settlements of Novouspenivske, Nove, Okhotnychе, Uspenivka, and Novomykolaivka.
“The enemy is trying to bring in its consolidation groups into these settlements, but Ukrainian defenders are doing everything possible to counter their attempts to hold their ground”, - added the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
He also noted that fierce battles continue for Rivnopillia, Solodke, and Yablukove. The enemy, advancing from the east, is trying to encircle Hulyaipole and cut off the logistical routes leading from Pokrovske.
“The fighting continues. Assault units are fiercely battling for every inch of our land”, - Voloshyn emphasized.
