"Ukraine and Sweden are strengthening cooperation in the development of innovative defense technologies. Today in Stockholm, I signed a letter of intent on partnership in the field of defense innovations with the Swedish Minister of Defense, Pål Jonson. The document opens new opportunities for attracting Swedish investments and technologies to the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. It also gives an impetus to the development of new forms of cooperation and will contribute to Ukraine’s integration into the European innovation and industrial space", - said Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on November 7.

According to him, Ukraine has received more than 9 billion dollars in aid from the Swedish people during this period.

"It is important that the assistance will continue in the future. Sweden has announced the allocation of about 8 billion dollars in 2026 and 2027 for military support to Ukraine", - Shmyhal added, noting that Ukraine values Sweden’s participation in the "Danish model", thanks to which 400 deep-strike weapons were delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"I discussed with Mr. Pål Jonson the development of Ukraine’s air capabilities. First of all — the potential supply of Swedish Gripen fighter jets. I proposed considering the possibility of joint development of anti-aircraft missile interceptors and joint production of radars. Special attention was given to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. We will be grateful for the provision of additional missiles for our systems", - said Shmyhal.
