“The situation in Pokrovsk is difficult. All their forces are there. In that direction, 170,000 of the enemy are concentrated. That’s a lot”, — said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a briefing in Kyiv on October 31, as reported by Suspilne.
Zelensky said that on the morning of October 31, he spoke with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrskyi: he said that there were no changes in Pokrovsk. Russian troops are monitoring Ukrainian logistics with drones, and the Defense Forces are constantly striking and monitoring the logistics of the russian army near Pokrovsk as well. According to Zelensky, the occupiers are walking 25–30 kilometers on foot to reach the city.
“There are russians in Pokrovsk, and our soldiers are gradually destroying them. They were tasked with taking this Pokrovsk, this very city, because they couldn’t take Sumy, they couldn’t take Kupiansk. Putin says he’ll go to Pokrovsk. Well, with pleasure — if he comes, everyone will applaud. We know how it will all end”, — noted Zelensky.
As reported, urban battles are taking place in Pokrovsk with groups of occupiers who have infiltrated different parts of the city.
