“1,605 children abducted by russia have been returned to Ukraine. Only 83 of them were returned through Qatar’s mediation. Mostly these are independent returns or returns carried out by rescue missions”, - reported the head of policy at Bring Kids Back UA, Oleksandra Dvoretska, at a press conference at Media Center Ukraine on September 11.
According to her, in order to return to Ukraine, children go through a difficult path: interrogations by the FSB and filtration procedures.
Children who return tell how they were forced to sing the anthem of the russian federation and attend militarized lessons. The more a child resisted, the more they were forced.
Oleksandra Dvoretska emphasized that the process of returning children must be unconditional — there can be no exchange of children for territory or a nuclear power plant.
