“Another major victory for EU sanctions against the russian federation today in the European Court of Justice (ECJ): the appeals of Viktor Yanukovych and Roman Abramovich for exclusion from the sanctions list were rejected”, - journalist of Radio Free Europe Rikard Jozwiak reported on September 10.
According to Politico, Yanukovych’s son, Oleksandr Yanukovych, also fell under EU sanctions for his far-reaching business ties in the Donbas occupied by russia. On Wednesday, the court rejected his parallel appeal to lift these sanctions, the outlet notes.
It is also reported that recently Yanukovych supported putin and stated that he had always opposed Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
